Roberto Henríquez's work and perspective on winemaking and biodynamic farming is deeply inspired by his time with Rene Mosse in the Loire Valley. Roberto, originally from Concepción, returned home from his time in abroad aiming to celebrate the traditional Pipeño methods of the original winemakers of Chile, which felt very intuitive to the artisanal winemaking style he had seen in France. The rest of his story to present is pure progression to the pursuit of the most pure wines in a true Chilean context. His vineyards are carefully selected in unique terroirs in the Itata and Bio Bio Valleys.

"Santa Cruz de Coya" is named after a nearby village that was a key site of the 1598-1599 Mapuche uprising that ended the Era of the Spanish Conquistadores. The wine is made with Pais harvested from vines nearly 200 years old, planted on granitic soils between pines and eucalyptus trees in the Nahelbuelta Mountains.  Like most of Roberto's wines, there's an incredibly charming mix of rustic complexity and detail in this wine, and if you've been hooked by the savory perfume and firm elegance of varieties like Pineau d'Aunis and Grolleau , don't snooze on this one.
