"The sisters produce a very small amount of red wine which they call “Benedic”: a blend of roughly equal parts Sangiovese and Ciliegiolo. Despite its 15-day maceration, Benedic is always a pale-colored, translucent wine that more than makes up for in charm what it lacks in heft. Typically weighing in at just 12.5% alcohol, it offers notes of macerated cherries, black tea, and licorice on its lithe, easygoing frame, with an undercurrent of forest floor and bramble adding complexity. Note: Benedic performs best when served around cellar temperature, which emphasizes its characteristic freshness."
