HORSES is a Cabernet Franc Pet Nat (“pétillant naturel”). The first vintage of HORSES sparkling was 2013 and since then, it’s been difficult to keep the wine in stock.

100% destemmed and left on the skins for 24 hours. Gently pressed and fermented cold and slowly throughout harvest. Racked and bottled in early November to finish fermentation in the bottle. Disgorged after 5 months.

Deep pink color with pronounced, juicy, ripe berry and cherry aromas mixing with characteristic Cab Franc pepper. Frothy and lively on the palate, with crisp acid. Finishes with a touch of savory to compliment the red fruit throughout. Drink cold and enjoy! Pair with Parmesan-Reggiano, lobster rolls, mushroom voulevant, moules frites.

Joseph Jr. and Alexandra Macari's approach is ecological and holistic: they know that the health of the plants and the character of the grapes depend on well-nourished, living soil, and that each step in the process contributes to the final product.

Thanks to Joseph’s devotion to the vineyard, the biodiversity of the Macari family farm provides an extraordinary grape growing environment that yields some of the finest fruit on the East Coast.
