About the wine:

The name "Salicornio" means "Glasswort" - a bushy plant that grows well in salty, brackish waters. Andres has chosen this name to reflect the saline characteristic of the grapes grown here in this region from La Mata Natural Park, at sea level and less than 50m from the ocean. Selected from 3 plots: One plot 24 years old, the other plot is 37, and the oldest one 64 years.

100% Moscatel, grown organically (with some biodynamic techniques) over sandy saline soils. Grapes area hand harvested, with soft maceration and gentle skin contact for 5 days followed by spontaneous fermentation in concrete vats with native yeasts. Half way through fermentation wine is pressed and skins removed. Aged on the lees for 5 months in concrete vats under a layer of flor. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, and zero SO2.
