Scar of the Sea Alicante Bouschet Galleano Ranch Cucamonga Valley 2021

This wine comes from historic vines planted in the 1920's and has been farmed organically by the Galleano Family since 1927. This vineyard site sits due East of Los Angeles in Southern California and is planted to sandy soils and farmed without irrigation. This is a dark wine in nature as the Alicante Boucshet grapes naturally have a red pulp and skin. The wine was made with 25% whole-cluster, fermented with native yeast and pressed in our wooden basket press. It was aged in neutral french oak barrels for 10 months. Spiced plum, sarsaparilla, & dusty tannin.
