Domaine de Saint Pierre Trousseau 2020
About the wine:
A brilliant expression of trousseau. Full of fresh strawberries and savoury spice on the nose and vibrant and lively, with crunchy red fruit, sappy structure and velvety tannins on the palate. Perfect to drink now with a 30 minute decant – accompanied by some charcuterie, pork or charcoal-grilled rib eye – delicious !
About the producer:
After studying enology in Beaune and working several years at the cooperative in Pupillin, Fabrice Dodane started working at Domaine de Saint Pierre in 1989 as manager. Fabrice took full control of the estate in 2011. The winery is based in the small town of Matheny and covers approximately 6 ha in the Arbois and Côtes du Jura AOCs with the vines planted in limestone and marl soils. Saint Pierre achieved organic certification in 2012, having started conversion in 2002. All wines are fermented with native yeasts either in tank or neutral barrel. Vinification for the reds is done without the addition of sulfur, and the whites are vinified in both the traditional sous voile method, as well as topped-up, or ouillé style. These are clean, balanced expressions of their terroir, and drink almost too easily.
